Three selected from Assam for prestigious Padma Awards 2024

On the eve of Republic Day, the Padma Awards 2024, one of the nation’s highest civilian awards, were revealed. Of the honorees, three Assam people were selected to receive the prestigious Padma Shri Awards in 2024.

The three Padma Shri awardees from Assam are Parbati Baruah, also known as ‘Hathi ki Pari’ from Assam’s Dhubri district, Sarbeswar Basumatary from Chirang district of Assam and Drona Bhuyan a folk artiste from Assam.
