Three Suspected Militants Killed in Police Encounter in Cachar

Three suspected militants, recently arrested by Cachar Police for transporting arms, were killed in a police encounter on Tuesday night. Some police personnel sustained serious injuries during the incident. According to Cachar SP Numal Mahatta, the suspects attacked the police while being taken to reveal hidden weapon locations, prompting police to fire in self-defense. Assam Chief Minister confirmed the operation on social media, stating that three Hmar militants were killed and weapons including AK rifles and a pistol were recovered.
