Three Suspected Poachers Arrested in Manas Elephant Killing Case

Police arrested three suspected poachers—Abid Borgoyari, Mahesh Islary, and Jiron Basumatary—from Amtenga, Chirang, in connection with recent elephant killings in Manas National Park. Two handmade guns and poaching-related items were seized. The arrests follow the May 2 discovery of three elephant carcasses near the Indo-Bhutan border. Investigations are ongoing to determine the trio’s role in the poaching network.
