Toddler Killed in Guwahati Road Accident, Tension Erupts

A two-and-a-half-year-old child died after being allegedly hit by a Mahindra Thar in the Paltanbazar area of Guwahati on Friday.

Police said the vehicle, reportedly without a registration number, has been seized and the driver, identified as Mintu Ali, is under investigation. The child was taken for treatment but was declared dead.

Following the incident, angry locals created tension at the spot and mistakenly assaulted a Swift car driver, Digambar Deka, who had reportedly stopped to help the victim. Police later brought the situation under control and launched an investigation.
