Tracker Poll Predicts NDA Hat-Trick in Assam in 2026

A tracker poll by People’s Pulse Research Organization projects a third consecutive term for the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance in Assam, with the alliance likely to win around 90 of the 126 Assembly seats in the 2026 elections. The BJP is forecast to emerge as the single largest party with 69–74 seats, while allies AGP and BPF add to the tally.
The survey shows Congress at 25–29 seats, with other parties marginal. In chief ministerial preference, Himanta Biswa Sarma leads narrowly ahead of Sarbananda Sonowal and Gaurav Gogoi. The poll indicates voter preference for continuity, citing governance performance, welfare schemes and organisational strength as key factors favouring the NDA.
