Traffic Congestion Continues on GMCH Approach Road in Guwahati

Guwahati: Severe traffic congestion continues to affect the approach road to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), with buses, e-rickshaws, private vehicles and roadside vendors contributing to frequent blockages. The road was reportedly congested for extended periods, while ambulances and pedestrians also faced difficulties navigating the stretch.

Patients and attendants have expressed concerns over the lack of clear passage, while a GMCH doctor said buses should not be parked on the narrow road. Traffic officials acknowledged difficulties faced by ambulances and pointed to vehicles stopping improperly and converging traffic from nearby areas. The recurring congestion has renewed concerns over traffic management and the need to keep the hospital approach road clear for emergency movement.
