Tragic Ambulance Accident in Assam Leaves Four Injured

In Assam’s Kaliabor, an ambulance returning from flood relief efforts collided with a parked truck on NH 37 in Hatigaon village on Wednesday night, injuring four individuals, including medical personnel. Dr. Upendra Kakati, who was onboard, sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition. Other injured individuals include Mrinmoy Bora, pharmacist Ashwini Baishya, and ambulance driver Jayanta Saikia, all receiving treatment at the Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital in Kaliabor. Dr. Kakati has been transferred to Guwahati for further care.

The incident underscores the risks faced by healthcare workers and emergency responders during critical operations. Authorities are investigating the accident to ensure better safety protocols on hazardous roadways, especially during relief efforts.
