Tragic Road Accidents Claim Lives in Assam’s Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur

In a heartbreaking incident, a woman and her 3-year-old daughter lost their lives in a fatal road accident at Moran, Dibrugarh district. They were passengers in a rented four-wheeler that collided with a parked truck along the highway. Despite rescue efforts, the woman, Bibi Akhtar (38) from Khumtai in Moran, died on the spot, while her daughter passed away en route to the hospital. The incident involved a vehicle with registration number ‘AS 01 QC 3813’, traveling from Guwahati to Moran.

In another tragic event, Rajiv Lekharu, an assistant professor at Bihpuria College in Lakhimpur, was killed in a road accident. He was returning from election duty for the first phase of polling in Assam when his vehicle collided with a bus near Doolahat, 23 kilometers from Bihpuria. Lekharu died at the scene of the accident.
