Train Services Restored After Agartala-Mumbai Express Derailment in Assam

Following Thursday’s derailment of six coaches, the engine, and power car of the Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express at Dibalong, Assam, normal train services were restored in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill section on Friday. The first train to pass through was the SMVT Bengaluru-Agartala Express. No major injuries were reported, and stranded passengers were provided food and water. Several trains were cancelled or rescheduled, affecting routes between Manipur, southern Assam, Tripura, and Mizoram. Rescue efforts were swift, aided by Army and Assam Rifles troops.
