Tribute to Kabiraj Sarmah: Educationist and Social Leader of Gohpur

Kabiraj Sarmah, a revered educationist and social worker from Dhenudhara village in Biswanath district, passed away at 84 in Guwahati while undergoing treatment. Sarmah dedicated nearly five decades to Gohpur Higher Secondary School, retiring as Principal in 2003. He was instrumental in founding several educational institutions and promoting the sciences in Gohpur. Beyond education, Sarmah was active in Asom Vigyan Samiti, Natun Sahitya Parishad, and local politics. He leaves behind a son, two married daughters, and a legacy of educational philanthropy.
