Twin-Seat Battles Heat Up BTC Polls as Boro, Mohilary, Ranjit Enter Fray

The Bodoland Territorial Council elections turned intense with three heavyweight leaders—CEM Pramod Boro, former CEM Hagrama Mohilary, and EM Ranjit Basumatary—filing nominations from two constituencies each. Boro (UPPL) is contesting Goibari and Dotma, Mohilary (BPF) from Debargaon and Chirang Duar, and Ranjit Basumatary (UPPL) from Baukhungri and Nichima. Multiple parties, including Congress, AGP, and CPI(M), have also fielded candidates, setting up fierce multi-cornered contests. Voting across five districts will decide the fate of 26.5 lakh voters, with results on September 26.
