Twist in Hailakandi Murder Case: Suspects Flee to Bangladesh via Tripura Border

The mysterious murder of Uttam Shil, owner of ‘Relax Unisex Parlour’ in Hailakandi, took a dramatic turn as the prime suspects reportedly escaped to Bangladesh through the Tripura border. Police tracked the location of Ruman Barman’s cellphone to Bangladesh, identifying him as the main suspect in the gruesome killing. Shil’s wife revealed that Barman, a Bangladeshi national and their employee, was allegedly responsible for her husband’s disappearance since March 17. Further investigations uncovered connections between Barman and another suspect, Dayal Das, who confessed to grievances against Shil. The sensitivity of the case lies in the nationality of the alleged perpetrator and his apparent infiltration into Assam. The victim’s family lamented their failure to verify Barman’s identity despite knowing his Bangladeshi origins, adding complexity to the investigation.
