Two IAF Pilots Killed in Su-30MKI Fighter Jet Crash in Karbi Anglong

Two pilots of the Indian Air Force were killed after a Sukhoi Su-30MKI crashed during a night training mission in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Thursday night.
The deceased pilots were identified as Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Durgakar. The aircraft was part of a formation of four jets but failed to return to base after radar contact was lost near Santilangso, about 60 km from Jorhat.
Rescue teams from the IAF, Army and paramilitary forces launched a search operation and later recovered the wreckage and remains from the crash site near Chokihola.
The IAF expressed deep condolences to the families of the two officers who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
