Two Killed, Four Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident in Jorhat

Two people were killed and four others critically injured after an SUV allegedly ran over them and fled at Dihingiagaon under Teok police station in Jorhat district early Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Abhijit Phukan and Amrit Gogoi, while the injured are undergoing treatment at JMCH, with one referred to Dibrugarh for advanced care. Police later arrested the accused driver, Mintu Gogoi, and seized the vehicle. The incident triggered public anger, with locals demanding strict punishment.
