Two Killed in Suspected Lightning Strike in Numaligarh

Two men, identified as Radheshyam Munda (Chiten) and Banshilal Tamariya, died on Wednesday night in Bihora Mikirchang Pahar Line under Numaligarh forest division, near the Karbi Hills.

The incident occurred around 10 PM amid heavy rainfall and lightning while they were guarding crops from wild elephants in a makeshift hut. Family members suspect they were killed by a lightning strike.

Their bodies were recovered on Thursday morning. Police have taken them for post-mortem examination.
