Two Rare Hoya Plant Species Discovered in Arunachal Pradesh

Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced that scientists from the Botanical Survey of India’s Itanagar centre have discovered two rare Hoya species — Hoya chinghungensis, reported for the first time in India, and Hoya acuminata, recorded for the first time in Arunachal Pradesh.
The discoveries were made in East Kameng, Pakke-Kessang, and Longding districts. Khandu lauded the scientists, calling it a proud moment showcasing Arunachal’s rich biodiversity and global ecological significance.
