Uncertainty Over Opposition Strategy in Digboi as Elections Approach

Political activities are intensifying in Digboi constituency ahead of the Assam Assembly elections, but uncertainty remains within the Opposition camp. Raijor Dal has announced Lakshya Jyoti Gogoi as its candidate, claiming support from the Congress through a mutual understanding. However, local Congress leaders have denied any such agreement and said the party plans to field its own candidate.

Digboi was not included in the Congress party’s first candidate list, leaving several aspirants awaiting clarity. Political observers say the delay has affected the party’s visibility in the constituency.
