V.D. Satheesan Named Kerala Chief Minister After UDF’s Massive Victory

The Congress on Thursday announced V.D. Satheesan as the new Chief Minister of Kerala after the UDF alliance secured a massive win in the 2026 Assembly elections with 102 seats.

Thanking the party leadership and people, Satheesan said he is committed to building a “new Kerala” by improving the state’s economy and tackling the debt crisis. A six-time MLA and lawyer by profession, Satheesan has been active in Congress politics since 1996.
