Veteran Assamese Journalist and Writer Nitya Bora Passes Away at 83

Veteran Assamese writer, critic, and journalist Nitya Bora passed away at a private hospital in Jorhat on Wednesday at the age of 83 after prolonged illness related to high blood pressure.

Bora had been undergoing treatment in the ICU at AG Nursing Home in Jorhat, where his condition became critical in recent days. A noted editor and prolific author, he made major contributions to Assamese journalism and literature. His last rites will be performed in Guwahati.
