Veteran BJP Leader Ashok Sarma Resigns, Set to Join Congress

Veteran BJP member Ashok Sarma resigned from the party on Friday at the Guwahati office. Sarma cited personal grievances with some party members as his reason for leaving. Despite working for the BJP without receiving a ticket in 2021, he felt compelled to resign. Sarma announced plans to join Congress on August 9, 2024.
