Veteran Journalist DN Chakravartty Passes Away at 97

Senior journalist, social activist and intellectual DN Chakravartty passed away at a Guwahati hospital on Sunday morning at the age of 97. A former Director of Information and Public Relations, Assam, he later became a prominent editor, leading several newspapers including Ajir Batori and Pragjyotish. A pioneer of the elderly rights movement and former JAA president, Chakravartty received numerous awards for his contributions. He was cremated with state honours, leaving behind a rich legacy in journalism and social service.
