Village Headman Stabbed to Death by Friend in Assam

In Nagaon district’s Kathitali Market Chowk, Chirantan Bordoloi, a village headman of Nambar Lalung gaon, was stabbed to death by his friend, retired Army personnel Palash Amsong. The incident occurred while Bordoloi was shopping, with Amsong attacking him on the neck with a machete for unknown reasons. After the attack, Amsong surrendered to the Kathiatoli police. Local residents and the All Assam Tiwa Students’ Union (AATSU) are demanding severe punishment for Amsong.
