Water Supplied Instead of Fuel at Assam Petrol Pump, Leading to Protest

A heated situation erupted at the Kawaimari petrol pump in Assam’s Sonitpur district when customers discovered they were being supplied water instead of fuel. The incident occurred in the Thelamara revenue circle area. Two motorcycle owners realized something was wrong when their vehicles broke down after refueling at the pump. An investigation revealed that water had been dispensed instead of petrol, leading to confusion and anger among customers. The situation escalated into a protest, prompting a large police presence, including the DSP of Sonitpur police and the officer-in-charge of Thelamara police station, to manage and calm the scene.
