West Jaintia Hills Bans Sale of Fuel in Loose Quantities

Shillong: The West Jaintia Hills district administration has banned the sale and distribution of petrol and diesel in loose quantities with immediate effect, citing public safety concerns amid the ongoing agitation. The restriction will remain in force until further orders.

The order prohibits the sale of fuel in bottles, jerry cans and other unauthorised containers, with violators facing legal action. However, diesel supply for mobile towers and road construction work will continue as per existing regulations.
