Wild Elephant Calf Rescued from Swollen Aie River on Indo-Bhutan Border
In a dramatic rescue on the Indo-Bhutan border in Chirang, a wild elephant calf was saved from the swollen Aie River. Incessant rains had caused the river to swell, sweeping away the calf. Local residents and the Chirang district forest department quickly mobilized and, after several attempts, successfully rescued the stranded calf from the turbulent waters.
