Wild Elephant Wreaks Havoc in Digboi Amid Assam Floods

Digboi, July 4, 2024 – As Assam grapples with widespread flooding, a man-animal conflict has surfaced in Digboi where a wild elephant caused significant destruction in Nabajyoti village. On Tuesday night, the elephant entered the village in search of food, demolishing three houses belonging to Rekhamani Duwari, Singro Praja, and Riten Bora. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. The ongoing floods have exacerbated such conflicts, displacing both humans and wildlife.
