Youth Detained in Guwahati with Pistol; Police Launch Investigation

A youth was detained by police in Guwahati late at night for allegedly carrying a pistol in the Bagharbari area of Panjabari. The accused, identified as Krishna Nath, was found with a 9mm pistol and three rounds of live ammunition.

After his detention, Nath claimed he had found the pistol on the road and was going to hand it over to the police. He also said he is a businessman.

Police have started an investigation to verify his claim, check the licence of the weapon, and determine its source. Sources also said a previous case had been registered against him at Dispur Police Station.
