Youth Killed in Elephant Attack Sparks Protests in Golaghat
A 21-year-old tea estate worker, Gopal Bhumij, died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Golaghat’s Bokial range. Following his post-mortem, locals and AATTSA members staged a road blockade protest, accusing the Forest Department of failing to control rising human–elephant conflict in the area.
