₹19,338 Crore Allocated for North East National Highways in FY 2024-25
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has allocated ₹19,338 crore for National Highway projects in the North East for FY 2024-25.
Currently, 190 projects spanning 3,856 km, worth ₹81,540 crore, are underway across the region. Completion is targeted by September 2028. Efforts to expedite progress include streamlined land acquisition, improved dispute resolution, and enhanced inter-departmental coordination.
NHIDCL leads the construction efforts, with significant progress reported in states like Assam (310 km completed) and Arunachal Pradesh (471 km completed). Work continues in other states under revised schedules.
