108 Ambulance Employees Continue Protest, Seek Govt Intervention

The All Assam 108 Mrityunjoy Employee Association has continued its peaceful agitation for over 20 days, alleging inaction by the state government, Chief Minister and Labour Department.

The association said repeated representations have yielded only assurances, while employees continue to face low wages, lack of job security and denial of overtime and bonuses. It demanded regularisation of nearly 3,000 workers by bringing the 108 emergency service under government control, revision of wages and inclusion of employees in government welfare schemes.
