18 Pharmacies in Hailakandi Issued Show-Cause Notices for Rule Violations

The Health Department has issued show-cause notices to 18 pharmacies in Hailakandi district for failing to comply with Assam Pharmacy Regulations, including not uploading mandatory data on the state portal.

Drugs Inspector Manash Borgohain said the notices were issued as a preliminary step and verification is underway across the district. Of the 280 pharmacies in Hailakandi, only 208 have applied online for registration, while many also fail to submit required monthly reports.

Officials warned that complaints regarding expired or substandard medicines can lead to laboratory testing, amid allegations that several pharmacies do not issue bills and sell expired drugs.
