24 bunkers destroyed; five arms recovered in Manipur

A combined team of state police and central forces conducted several operations in various sensitive peripheral areas of the state and dispersed security measures to prevent untoward incidents for nearly two days.

According to a statement from the Police Control Room, Manipur Police, a combined team of state police and Central forces on Thursday destroyed 24 bunkers in several areas of Imphal East, Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts.

The team also recovered five arms, five HE Hand Grenades and 71 ammunitions from the Leitanpokpi foothills during the operation.
