257 New Anganwadi Centres Planned for Darrang, Udalguri

Darrang and Udalguri districts are set to receive 257 new Anganwadi centres, with 105 targeted for completion in Darrang before Durga Puja in October and 152 in Udalguri by November. Women and Child Development Minister Ajanta Neog issued the deadlines during reviews of departmental activities in the two districts.

Neog directed officials to speed up construction, ensure proper use of government funds and make the centres child-friendly. She also stressed stronger coordination among departments and called for intensified awareness campaigns against child marriage, trafficking and drug abuse, along with improved nutrition for children and pregnant women.
