487 New School Buildings Under Construction Across Assam

Assam is strengthening its education infrastructure with 487 new school buildings under construction at a cost of Rs 3,269.86 crore under schemes such as RIDF, NESIDS and PM-DevINE. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu reviewed the progress of the projects, stressing timely completion and quality standards.

So far, 58 school buildings have been completed and are set to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on February 2, 2026. The initiative aims to improve learning facilities for students and teachers across the state.
