50,000 Yaba Tablets Worth ₹10 Crore Seized in Cachar, One Held

Silchar, August 18: Assam Police have seized a major consignment of suspected narcotics after intercepting a truck at the Old MVI Check Point in Digharkhal, Cachar district. According to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, police recovered 50,000 Yaba tablets estimated to be worth ₹10 crore from a concealed chamber inside the vehicle and apprehended one person.

The operation was carried out by Cachar Police as part of Assam’s ongoing anti-drug campaign. The seizure adds to a series of narcotics recoveries reported from the Cachar region, with authorities continuing efforts to intercept drug consignments moving through the state. Further investigation is expected to establish the source and intended destination of the seized tablets and identify any wider network involved.
