RPF Arrests Man Over Alleged Passenger Theft at Guwahati Station

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended a 36-year-old man, Jalal Hussain, at Guwahati Railway Station on Monday for allegedly stealing from a passenger. Hussain, a resident of Karbala in Goalpara district, was caught near platforms 6 and 7, with a Realme smartphone worth around ₹20,000 recovered from his possession.

According to the RPF, Hussain allegedly admitted to stealing the phone from a passenger travelling on the GHY–GLPT Passenger train at platform 7. The accused and recovered phone were handed over to the Guwahati Government Railway Police (GRP), which registered a case under Section 305(c) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for further legal action.
