95 Dead, Over 130 Injured as Powerful Earthquakes Strike Tibet

Six earthquakes, including a 7.1-magnitude tremor, struck Tibet on Tuesday, killing at least 95 people and injuring over 130. Dingri County and surrounding areas witnessed significant building collapses near the epicenter.

Strong tremors were felt across India, Nepal, and Bhutan. In Delhi-NCR, Bihar, West Bengal, and northeastern India, residents experienced intense shaking. Nepal’s Kathmandu and seven hill districts bordering Tibet also reported strong tremors.

The National Centre for Seismology classified the quake as “strong,” with aftershocks of 4.7 and 4.9 magnitudes reported in the same region.
