Reunion After Five Years: Mentally Challenged Youth Returns Home in Assam

In a touching development in Assam’s Chirang district, a family was reunited with their son, Sanu Ram Das, after five years. Sanu, who is mentally challenged, went missing from his home half a decade ago. Recently, employees of the Jeevan Anand NGO in Maharashtra facilitated his return to his family in Doturi village, Bijni. Sanu had been rescued by police in Goa and subsequently received care and treatment at the NGO. Upon completion of his treatment, the organization collaborated with Bijni MLA Ajay Kumar Roy to locate Sanu’s family. Finally, MLA Ajay Roy and NGO representatives delivered Sanu to his long-awaited reunion with his family.
