STF Seizes Fake Currency and Printing Equipment, Arrests Three in Chirang District
The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth Rs. 18,000 and apprehended three individuals during a raid in Chirang district. Acting on specific inputs, the STF team raided the residence of Md. Baharul Islam in 2 No. Charagaon. In addition to the fake currency, the team recovered materials used for printing counterfeit notes: eight bundles of white paper sized for Rs. 500 notes, six FICN Rs. 500 notes covering the upper and lower layers of each bundle, a FICN printing machine, four mobile phones, A-4 size papers, and a Renault Kwid (Reg. No. AS 01 BX 5504). The arrested individuals are Md Baharul Islam, Md Dulal Ali, and Md Ajijur Rahman. Further investigation is underway.
