Guwahati Police Busts Motorcycle Theft Gang, Arrests Four

In a major breakthrough, Garchuk Police in Guwahati arrested four members of a motorcycle theft gang on Thursday. The arrests followed a complaint about a stolen bike from Ayursundra Hospital’s parking space. The investigation led to the capture of the gang’s mastermind, Jiban Bordoloi, also known as Jiban Das. During interrogation, Bordoloi identified his associate, Bhola Dey, who was subsequently arrested in Byrnihat.

Another gang member, Gobind Basumatary, who provided information about the stolen motorcycle and other gang members, was also apprehended. Chandra Bhumik, another accomplice, was arrested in a raid on Guwahati’s Zoo Road.

The gang was involved in stealing motorcycles and selling them across the border in Bangladesh. Police suspect more individuals are part of the gang and are continuing their investigation to gather further information. More details are awaited.
