Severe Cyclone Forces Suspension and Cancellation of Train Services in Northeast India

In the wake of a severe cyclone, the Northeast Frontier Railway (N. F. Railway) has suspended train movements between Km 107/3 and 146/7 in the New Haflong – Chandranathpur section under the Lumding division. This has led to the cancellation and partial cancellation of several train services.

Cancelled Trains:

  • Silchar – Guwahati Express (Train No. 15616) – May 31, 2024
  • Silchar – Rangiya Express (Train No. 15612) – May 31, 2024
  • Guwahati – Silchar Express (Train No. 15615) – June 1, 2024
  • Rangiya – Silchar Express (Train No. 15611) – June 1, 2024

Partially Cancelled Trains:

  • Sealdah – Agartala Kanchanjunga Express (Train No. 13173) – Short terminated at Lumding on May 30, 2024
  • Silchar – Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express (Train No. 13176) – Short originated from Lumding on May 31, 2024
  • Agartala – Secunderabad Special (Train No. 07029) – Short originated from Guwahati on May 31, 2024
  • SMVT Bengaluru – Agartala Humsafar Express (Train No. 12503) – Short terminated at Guwahati on May 28, 2024
  • Anand Vihar Terminal – Agartala Rajdhani Express (Train No. 20502) – Short terminated at Guwahati on May 29, 2024
  • Tiruvananthapuram Central – Silchar Express (Train No. 12507) – Short terminated at Guwahati on May 28, 2024

Passengers are advised to check for updates from the Northeast Frontier Railway and arrange alternative travel plans. The railway authorities are working to restore services as soon as possible.
