Teacher Drowns After Boat Capsizes in Brahmaputra River, Majuli

In a tragic incident on Sunday, a teacher drowned after a traditional boat capsized in the Brahmaputra River on Majuli, the world’s largest river island. Three people were on board the boat in the Kordoiguri area when it capsized. Utpal Saikia, a resident of Bhalukmara village and a teacher, went missing in the river. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) launched a search operation but has yet to locate him. Locals have criticized the SDRF for their delayed response to the incident.
