Cement Factories Near Air Force Station Digaru Pose National Security Threat

The Centre for Efficient Governance has raised alarms over the proximity of several cement factories to Air Force Station Digaru, a key logistical base for the Indian Air Force in Northeast India. The base houses the 51 Air Stores Park, critical for storing military hardware. Factories such as Star Cement (2.4 km away), Daivik Cement (2.7 km), and the proposed Taj Cement (1.9 km) are nearby. Dust pollution, mechanical vibrations, and heat from these factories could negatively affect the stored military hardware. Concerns are heightened by misleading environmental impact assessments and the potential for man-made disasters. Immediate government action is urged to study and mitigate these risks to safeguard national security.
