Training Program on Eri Silk Spinning and Natural Dyeing Inaugurated at Nowgong College

A three-day training program on motorized spinning of ‘Eri Silk’ and natural dyeing was inaugurated at Nowgong College (Autonomous), organized by the STI Hub and NSS Unit, and sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, India. The event, attended by key figures like Dr. Ranjan Kr Kakati and Jagadish Sharma, focused on enhancing local sericulture practices. Over 150 NSS volunteers and 50 ‘Eri’ rearers participated, aiming to revitalize traditional silk production and foster economic growth through sustainable practices.
