Attempted Rape Thwarted by Mother in Biswanath

A hawker named Sheikh attempted to assault a 12-year-old girl in Joypur village, Biswanath, on August 31. The girl’s screams alerted her mother, who intervened, causing Sheikh to flee. Local residents captured Sheikh the next day and handed him over to the police. Sheikh, originally from West Bengal, had been living in Biswanath as a hawker.
