Assam Expands Orunodoi Scheme to 37 Lakh Beneficiaries

Assam’s Orunodoi Scheme will now include an additional 20 lakh beneficiaries, raising the total to 37 lakh. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that under Orunodoi 3.0, ₹1,250 will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible women across the state. The scheme requires beneficiaries to have both Aadhaar and ration cards. Measures will ensure that only the needy and marginalised are included. Additionally, the state plans to triple mustard procurement and expand paddy procurement, alongside supporting 30,000 local entrepreneurs through the Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan.
