Assam Launches Atmanirbhar Scheme to Boost Youth Entrepreneurship

Assam will launch the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme, offering Rs 2 lakh to each beneficiary to support entrepreneurship. The first phase begins tomorrow, with 25,000 youth receiving Rs 75,000 initially. After training, an additional Rs 25,000 will be disbursed by November. The remaining Rs 1 lakh will be provided upon successful use of the funds. Beneficiaries will repay half in five years. Another 75,000 youth will benefit in the second phase. Separately, Assam will become India’s first state to introduce sub-districts, aimed at improving access to services.
