Infant Trafficking Case Uncovered in Dhemaji, Assam

A shocking infant trafficking case emerged in Silapathar, Dhemaji, where a newborn was allegedly sold for Rs. 30,000. The parents reportedly staged the infant’s death before selling the child to local resident Pegu Saharia. The Dhemaji Child Welfare Committee (CWC) discovered the illegal sale and filed a complaint with the police. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
