Assam Congress Leaders Arrested During Protest for Justice

APCC President Bhupen Bora and senior Congress leaders were arrested in Guwahati during a peaceful march to Janata Bhawan. The protest was against the death of Congress worker Mridul Islam during the recent Raj Bhawan Cholo agitation.

Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib and others were also detained from a Guwahati hotel, with phones confiscated. Congress condemned the arrests, accusing the government of suppressing democratic rights. The party vowed to intensify protests, demanding justice and a judicial inquiry into Islam’s death.
