Assam Congress Protests Attack on MP Rakibul Hussain

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) held statewide protests on Friday against the attack on Congress MP Rakibul Hussain in Rupahihat, Nagaon. In Guwahati, party leaders gathered at Rajiv Bhawan, demanding a high-level inquiry and criticizing the BJP-led state government for poor law and order.

Congress legislators also protested in the Assam Legislative Assembly, with Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia calling the attack “unfortunate” and raising concerns over rising political violence. The incident occurred on Thursday when miscreants stopped Hussain’s convoy en route to a meeting in Rupahihat.
